Master's blog - November 2017

Welcome to our website, whether you are a member of our Guild or planning to visit our area – or just interested in what we do.

You will see that we have some historic rings of bells and some relatively new; we have bells in small village churches and some in larger towns. Since the Guild was formed in 1881, it has encouraged ringing for services and has recognised ringers as church workers. It also works towards “the recruitment and training of new ringers”, and “the promotion of interest in the care of all bells within the Diocese”.

A Guild such as ours can offer help and support to its members through the officers who hold specific posts, and bring their particular expertise to those roles. You will see from the list of officers that we are well served in this respect, and there are regular events arranged at Guild level, throughout the year, which any member can attend.

Because of its large geographical area, the Guild is divided into 15 branches, each of which has its own committee and organises practices, training and social events.

If you are visiting our Guild, you will find a good welcome and I hope you enjoy your ringing.
